First meeting

The first time I met my tutor was a few days before I started my master programme. We met to discuss option courses. I asked about a methodology course, and another course on race.

He looked at me, and then he told me this programme will be very difficult for me, because I am not used to think critically. And he said he knows this because I asked about a methodology course. Methodology is for people who are not critical, apparently.

He looked at me, and then he asked me what I want to write about. I answered: “migration in the EU”. He said that I will change my mind. I said okey, fine by me. Then he asked me where I am from. Where I am really from. (Need I say that I am not white?). When I answered, he told me to write about this country. I said no, I don’t want to do that. He told me again that this programme will be very hard for me, because I am not used to think critically.
